John’s Bascom Automotive can be a busy place, especially when trying to meet the needs of such a large and established customer base. Most work is done by appointment, even if the appointment is made that morning for later in the day. Please feel free to give us a call (408-292-1200) to check our availability for the work you need performed on your vehicle. Below are some basic scheduling guidelines to consider:
Typical less than one day services:
- Lube, oil, and filter service
- Minor maintenance service (typically 5k-15k)
- Brake inspection
- Tire rotation
- Smog Inspection
- Air conditioning recharge
- Drive belts
Typical full day services:
- Maintenance service (30k, 60k, 90k, 105k, 120k, etc)
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp or Check Engine Light diagnosis
- Driveability/Electrical/ABS/SRS diagnosis
- No start or no crank diagnosis
- Ignition component replacement
- Brake system repairs, tire replacement, wheel alignment
- Air conditioning system repairs
- Most timing belt services, and most general repairs
Typical overnight services:
- Intermittent driveability/no start diagnosis
- Smog diagnosis (except Consumer Assistance Program vehicles, see below)
- Repair or service work requiring special order parts
- A combination of service or repair work exceeding the amount of available labor in the day
- Some timing belt services
Typical multiple day services:
- Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) diagnosis and related repairs
- Minimum 2-3 day turn around time with CAP vehicles
- Part availability issues may push delivery time out considerably
- Availability of customer for approval of repair work critical to delivery time
- Vehicles with multiple problems, vehicles with carburetors, etc may require additional time
- Transmission/transfer case repair/replacement
- Head gasket replacement and/or cylinder head machining
- Engine repair/replacement
